LOCAL FIRST ANNOUNCES STREET PARTY BAND LINEUP
Lineup features La Famiglia; The Hard Lessons; Grupo Ayé; Afro Zuma; Larry McCray; Fauxgrass Quartet
April 26, 2012. GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – La Famiglia will headline the 9th Annual Local First Street Party presented by Founders Brewing Co. on Saturday, June 9, 4 p.m. to midnight outside Bistro Bella Vita, in a lineup consisting entirely of Michigan bands. Michigan favorites The Hard Lessons, Grupo Ayé, Afro Zuma, Larry McCray, and The Fauxgrass Quartet are also slated to perform on the Celebration! Cinema sponsored stage.
“We’re very excited to announce such an outstanding lineup for the 9th Annual Local First Street Party,” said Elissa Hillary, Executive Director at Local First. “This event is a wonderful opportunity to showcase some of Michigan’s most talented bands. We have been privileged to host many incredible acts over the past eight years, and this year looks to be one of our best yet.”
One of Grand Rapids’ most successful bands and Street Party veteran La Famiglia, aka La Fam, will headline. La Fam is a collection of multi-talented musicians brought together by producer and emcee extraordinaire, Mike G. Not relying on pre-recorded tracks, La Fam provides full-band backing for its lyrists, making this one of the best hip-hop acts around.
Leading up to La Fam, Local First and Celebration! Cinema will welcome to the stage high energy rockers out of Detroit, The Hard Lessons; internationally renowned Grupo Ayé will provide Latin grooves; Afro Zuma will bring the rhythmic world music; Larry McCray will lay down his savage blues-rock guitar and soulful vocals; The Fauxgrass Quartet will perform a progressive bluegrass set; a DJ will spin between every set; and La Fam will bring numerous surprise special guests!

The Local First Street Party is an annual celebration of local food, beer and music. The event is Local First’s largest annual fundraiser, and helps support the nonprofit’s work promoting local business ownership and sustainable economic development in West Michigan. The 9th Annual Local First Street Party presented by Founders Brewing Co. is Saturday, June 9, 4 p.m. to midnight outside Bistro Bella Vita.
