Local First will host the 2012 BALLE Business Conference in Grand Rapids May 14-18, the first time the 10-year-old national organization — Business Alliance for Local Living Economies — has held its major annual meeting in the Midwest.
Local First is now accepting applications for two internship opportunities, including openings for a Program Intern as well as a Marketing & Events Intern. Please submit your cover letter and resume at apply@localfirst.com by January 6th, 2012.
We are now accepting applications for our 2012 LocalMotion Awards! Organizations and individuals will be recognized for their committment to building a strong sustainable local economy.
Applications will be reviewed by committee and the awards will be presented at Local First's Annual Meeting on January 31.
Local First will host the 2012 BALLE Business Conference May 15-18 in Grand Rapids, BALLE announced today. Themed “Real Prosperity Starts Here,” the 10th annual, 4-day conference will highlight West Michigan’s status as a leader in entrepreneurship and sustainable business. The conference will bring together more than 700 entrepreneurs, business network leaders, economic developers, sustainability experts, and local government and community leaders to discuss a new economic model for the future, focused on local entrepreneurship.
In recognition of its innovation and leadership, Local First has been named the Midwest regional hub network for the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE). Read More.
